we visited an old fashioned ice cream parlor

Vacations are exciting--especially when they're in the fall. This week my family is taking a break from regular routines and doing some activities around town for my dad's week off work. Monday we went to this old fashioned ice cream parlor. The place was truly a work of art for it's walls were covered in intricate woodwork while big crystal like chandeliers graced it's ceilings and bags of hard candy lined it's shelves. It was as if we had walked right into a live scene of the past. Even the long spoons, deep dishes, and paper straws added a antique feel. The ice cream was superb. Can you guess what flavor I had? I couldn't make up my mind between mint chocolate chip and raspberry chip, but in the end I went with raspberry chip. I'm glad I did. It was cold, creamy, and utterly delicious!

  2. 1. raspberry chip ice cream. creamy meets fruity meets chocolate? a whole new level of bliss, if you ask me. i recently had homemade coconut milk ice cream and it was pretty much like a dairy-free version of wendy's frosties.

    2. this is probably going to sound queer and sentimental, but i'm shedding tears. you must be special. your fall adventures, intimate, outdoorsy gatherings with your family -- everything you've been doing really. it all screams carpe diem. glad you guys are doing so many splendid things on your dad's vacation.

    3. your writing is lovely.
