Homemade Ice Cream!

                                              *WARNING...may make you hungry!!*

Okay, so I've seen this ice cream recipe going around on blogs for a while and wanted to try it. Recently Katherine tried it and inspired me to do the same.

ice cream-
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 pound frozen strawberries
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

directions-In a blender, combine all ingredients for the ice cream.  Blend until smooth. The finished consistency may be too soft, so you might need to stick your ice cream in the freezer for a few hours, stirring occasionally until it firms up.

whipped cream-
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

In a separate bowl, whip the cream and powdered sugar on high until stiff peaks form.

Like Katherine, I tripled this recipe and it turned out beautifully! Enough for my entire family.

This ice cream was AWESOME!! Tasted soo good!! I would DEFINITELY recommend it!!

*I ended up using only 2 pounds of strawberries when I tripled it and I thought it was plenty.

  1. Sarah, this is just wrong.
How could you do this to my taste buds?

No joke, I've always wanted to make homemade ice cream. You girls' ice cream looks awfully creamy and rich. What a treat!

    1. Hahahah *evil grin*
You MUST make it! It was sooo yummy!!!

  2. Ooh, Sarah that looks so YUMMY :) Today I had a strawberry and raspberry smoothie not too long ago - thanks to my Dad - and a Starbucks coffee!!

    1. It was VERY yummy!!!!
Oh that sounds great Elizabeth! I bet it was scrumptious!!

  3. YEAH!!!!!! You made it!!! Eekkkk I'm so happy and excited that it turned out well!
Is your ice cream just a little lighter than mine due to less strawberries? Or just maybe the lighting? I'm just wondering. It looks really good though!
And that reminds me.... YOU MADE ME HUNGRY!! Meany! ;)

I'm so glad that it turned out well! Did your family say that it was good?

    Have a good day! :D

    1. Yes me too!! It was simply AWESOME!!!!!
It probably was a little lighter, but the picture is definitely lighter than it really was.
Yes, my family LOVED it!! The whipped cream was delish too!

You have a great day too. (of course I know you're having fun right now cause we're chatting!!!!!!!!!!)
